For folks who were worried AI was going to swoop in, steal your job, and leave you destitute…

… you can breathe a sigh of relief (for now at least.)

A couple days ago, ChatGPT 5 just dropped, and it wasn’t the big, history-shattering breakthrough people were bracing for.

A lot of folks were ready to be overwhelmed.

Instead, they’re underwhelmed.

As for me?

I’m just… whelmed.

When the current era of LLMs went mainstream 3 years ago, I was genuinely quite wowed by the tech.

But over time, through using them and seeing the cracks, I’ve grown less impressed and more certain that the real edge is in not becoming overly reliant on them and letting your critical thinking skills and ability to work sans AI atrophy.

So no, I wasn’t that surprised that ChatGPT 5 wasn’t the “next big leap” it was hyped up to be.

And from what I’m hearing…

This so-called update has actually been more of a downgrade that pumps out WORSE responses the majority of the time as their queries are being routed behind the scenes to cheaper models.

It’s got more to do with cost cutting than blowing people’s minds.

That makes a lot of sense…

‘Cause AI companies have been bleeding money like crazy for years.

Now, so long as the hype train keeps rolling and the investors keep throwing cash at it, that’s a non issue. But…

It looks like we’re fast approaching the point where the hype bubble bursts…

Investor money dries up…

And then the enshitification truly begins.

It has already started with ChatGPT. But I won’t be surprised if we see Claude, Gemini and other competitors follow suit soon.

People will be charged more and more for access to the models they once used for cheap (or even free)…

And people who over-relied on AI will have the rug pulled out from under them unless they cough up for the rising costs.

Meaning:

For copywriters and business owners who actually write their own copy, the ability to create effective, persuasive sales messages remains as valuable as ever.

In fact, it may be even more valuable as many writers have happily allowed AI to dull their copy chops.

Big mistake.

But if you want to sharpen your skills and learn how to craft fun, personality-driven emails that sell…

… and write them in 20 minutes or less…

… without using even a lick of AI…

Then my Emails with Attitude Cookbook will show you how:
