There are few greater sins in email copywriting than being forgettable…
So if you wanna make sure your emails actually stick in folk’s noggins, then I’ve got a story for you.
My dad is an absolute fishing nut. Always has been.
Which meant that growing up, I was force-fed a never-ending loop of fishing shows on the living room telly.
Now, me? I never really got into fishing. I don’t hate it, but it’s just not really my jam.
But there was this one fishing show that I just couldn’t stop watching:
Rex Hunt’s Fishing Adventures.
Not because he was the best angler…
But because Rex Hunt was one hell of a character.
This Aussie bloke and his antics were absolutely captivating. He’d catch a fish, kiss it smack dab on the lips…
And spout the most bizarre catchphrases like:
“Thank your mother for the rabbits”…
And…
“Yibbida yibbida — that’s all folks!”
I had no clue what half of it meant.
But all these years later, I still remember him vividly.
And that right there is the power of having character.
See, you don’t need to be the most informative or technically brilliant person in your niche to stand out.
You just need to be memorable.
And that comes from injecting a bit of your uniqueness into your emails.
Because here’s the clincher:
You could have the best tips, insights, or offers…
But if you sound like a carbon copy of every other Tom, Dick and Harry in your industry, your emails will get forgotten faster than most folks’ New Year’s resolutions.
The quirky folks – the ones who let their personality shine through…
They’re the ones nobody forgets.
And before you start thinking “But I’m not that interesting…”
Trust me. You are!
You’re unique, just like everyone else. Haha.
Besides, no bang-average normie would willingly read my blabberings about copywriting and email marketing.
We’ve all got unique peculiarities…
And in your emails, it pays to crank them up to 11 **Spinal Tap style!**
But if writing emails with personality still feels tricky…
That’s where I can come in.
I specialize in crafting emails that not only feel fun, personal and sell… but I’ve got a knack for capturing the unique voice of the clients I write for and letting that radiate through in their copy.
So if you’d rather be the Rex Hunt of your niche instead of just another “meh” marketer…
