Let’s talk about Community.
No, not the kind you build with your email list… although, that’s kinda relevant, too.
But I’m talking about the TV show, Community.
It’s brilliant, funny, self-aware. And in my books, it’s one of the best sitcoms of the 2010s.
Except for season 4.
The showrunners and writing team had some major changes and the new team just didn’t get it. Jokes didn’t land. Characters felt off. It was a mess.
Yet despite all this…
Fans — myself included — kept on watching the show, hoping it would eventually recapture its magic. (Which it eventually did in season 5.)
And it’s the same with writing emails…
If your list has received some brilliant emails from you that have given them a nice juicy hit of dopamine, they’ll keep on reading (and buying) from you, even when you’re having a few off days…
… Because they’re chasing the feeling your best emails gave them before.
And ironically:
When you take the pressure off yourself to write bangers every single day, you’ll probably end up writing better emails.
Because you’re relaxed. You’re in flow. You’re having fun.
And having fun = good emails.
Of course, you’d already know that — along with hundreds of other nifty methods for writing fun, personality-packed emails that sell like crazy — if you had my Emails with Attitude Digital Cookbook.
But if you ain’t copped it yet, you can correct that mistake by heading here:
